George Dewey Jenkins, 86, of Culpeper died Tuesday, October 23 at Culpeper Health Care Center.
Mr. Jenkins was a native of Rappahannock County and had lived in Culpeper County for many years. He was a retired employee of Virginia Department of Highways.
Surivors include his wife, Mary Dodson Jenkins of Culpeper; a daughter, Myrtle Frances Stewart of Harrisonburg; a son, Jean W. Jenkins of Culpeper; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sadie Edmonds of Front Royal.
A funeral service will be held at Clore Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. Friday, October 26. The Rev. John S. Farrar will officiate. Interment will be in Washington Masonic Cemetery.

Roy Carter, 76, died Oct. 15 at his home at Amissville.
Mr. Carter was born Oct. 8, 1908, in Warren County, son of Carroll and Ida Alexander Carter of Fauquier. He was a retired textile worker at FMC Corporation in Front Royal, and was a member and former deacon of the ’ Amissville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Evie Kemper Carter, a son James B. Carter * Sr., a daughter Mrs. Catherine C. Paul, all of Amissville, a sister Mrs. Blanche Poe of Clifton, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Oct. 18 at the Amissville Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Stirman and Rev. Steve Parker. Burial was in the Amissville Methodist Church cemetery. -
