Irwin also alluded to growth as a cause for concern. “If you think Rappahannock with 7,000 people won’t be 38,000 (like Fauquier), just hang around awhile,” he said.
Col. James White said residents shouldn’t object when finding similarities in the proposed zoning ordinance and the ordinances of other counties. He said this would not be unusual because zoning “must follow the same enabling legislation.”
In outlining his support for the proposed zoning ordinance, White said that he concurred with Dennis, who, in speaking earlier on similarities in the proposed ordinance and the Fauquier ordinance, said: “One county ought to be smart enough to learn from others.”
