"These are people who prefer working outside, and it would be nice if the local farming community would remember them.”

Ellen Breckley was the crew manager with the Saltonstall workers. “We try to get the clients out into the real world as much as possible so that they can see the way other people work,” Breckley said. “We’d like something to keep all of our clients busy all of the time.”

People are referred as clients to the FORE Workshop by the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services, and the facility receives some funding for its 40 clients from the state. Breckley said that there is still a real need for money for the facility.

“We have a workshop in Warrenton that just does woodworking, and refinishing antiques and furniture to sell,” Breckley said. “We also take care of the grounds at Airlie House Conference Center in Warrenton.” .1 ff ?

• The assembly of small parts to sell is the best source of income for the facility now, said Breckley. There are two other supervisors besides Breckley, so there is also a need for people who would take the work crews out. “Sometimes we can’t take jobs when they’re offered since each crew has to have a supervisor, and if all of us are tied up we lose that job,” Breckley said.

The crews usually work part-time for as many days as it takes to get the job done. “We should think about the
