The Masculine And The Feminine Workshop

On Saturday, October 27 at the Middle Street Gallery from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a workshop to explore and express masculine and feminine (anima-animus) selves through guided imagery, myths, fairytales and other magical ventures. Leading the workshop will be Deni Horton, writer, poet and psychologist who works extensively with Jung, Art and Dreams and Steve Scoggin, pastor in Rappahannock County, who has studied at the Jugian Institute in Zurich. Halloween Party

A Halloween Party sponsored by the Amissville Ladies Auxiliary will be held Oct. 31 at the Amissville Fire Hall, 7:30-9:00 p.m. There will be a 50 cents charge at the door that will cover games, refreshments and a haunted house. Prizes for all age groups.

Historical Society Meeting

“Rappahannock Schools Before Consolidation” will be the subject of a panel discussion at the regular Quarterly meeting of the Rappahannock Historical Society on Friday, November 2 at the Society’s building on Gay Street. Meeting time 7:30 p.m.

Former principal of the elementary school and long time teacher in the county, Mrs. Mary Quaintance; still teaching, and former teacher at the Scrabble school, Mrs. Dorothy Butler, and retired teacher Mian Mary Miller Wood will be the speakers.

A lively discussion with audience participation will be the order of the evening. Come to hear about teaching in two room school houses, segregation and county wide commencement services. The meeting is open to the public.

Benefit Sock Hop

A benefit sock hop, sponsored by the Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary is scheduled for Friday, October 26 at 7 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall.

Steve Norman of Castleton will be the dee-jay. Admission is $2 and refreshments will be sold.
