To the editor
I attended the Wakefield District meeting for the Rappahannock Public Action Committee. I observed that the majority of the people present from Wakefield District were opposed to the new ordinance and at one point during the meeting one of the opponents brought it to a show of hands and the acting chairman of the Planning Commission lowered his head so he could not see the outcome of the vote.
I wonder why the clear display of public input was ignored.
Also, when asked if the petitions meant anything to the joint board they said they did but never obligated themselves to act upon the urging of the citizens. They continued talking about revising the new ordinance. Both oppo
