Earl “Jack” Lee Putnam, Sr., 71, of Front Royal, died Tuesday, April 30 in Warren Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday at Tumer-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Jerry Young. Burial was in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Waterlick.

Mr. Putnam was bom January 21, 1914, in Fauquier County, son of the late Edward Corbin and Lucy Frances Grimsley Putnam.

Surviving are his wife, Etelee Pullen Putnam; three sons, Earl L. Putnam, Jr., Nelson Putnam and Ted Putnam, all of Front Royal and two daughters, Linda Livingstone of Front Royal and Marie Putnam of Culpeper.

Additional survivors include six sisters, Nannie Weaver and Katie Pearson, both of Hume, Ethel Whitmer and Evelyn Megeath, both of Front Royal, Alice Pullen of Flint Hill and Jennie Haynes of Amissville.

Pallbearers were Edward Lawrence, Gary Hendrick, Doug Dove, Butch East ham, Orie Hawkins and Tommy Megeath.

Gladys Andrews

Mrs. Gladys Imogene Westervelt Andrews, 90, of Kernersville, North Carolina, died January 22 at Clapp’s Nursing Home in Greensboro, N.C.

Memorial services and burial were conducted on May 4 at East Lawn Cemetery in Ithaca, New York by the Rev. Margaret L. Smith.

A native of Ithaca, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Delmont Westervelt and Anna Crozier Westervelt. She was the widow, of Floyd Edward Andrews.

Survivors include a son, Roger Delmont Andrews of Washington; two daughters, Virginia Andrews Hayes of Albany, N.Y. and Muriel Andrews Wangler of Kernersville, N.C.; one brother, Walter Westervelt of East Ganaby, Connecticut; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
