Jaycees Meeting
The Rappahannock Jaycees will hold their regular meeting on Thursday, May 16 at 8 p.m. at Brambles Cafe. A social hour will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Basketweaving Workshop
Janet Kerig is offering a one-day workshop in making a contemporary Appalachian Melon basket with wild grapevine handles and natural dyed splints. The session will be devoted to completing a basket.
The workshop will be presented at the Middle Street Gallery in historic Washington on Tuesday, May 21 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The cost will be $45 with all materials included and pre-registration is required. To pre-register, call 987-8670 or 675-3440.
4-H Camp
4-H Junior High Camp for all young people ages 12,13 and 14 will be held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center, Front Royal. The cost is $55 per person. Please call the Extension Office at 675-3619 for further information. Registration deadline is May 17.
Art Show
The Fauquier Chapter of the Virginia Museum Inc. is hosting its second annual “Virginia Patterns” Art Show on Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18. The show is open to all artists residing in the counties adjoining Fauquier County. The show is a juried and judged event.
Work will be accepted at the John Barton Payne Building, 2 Court House Square, Old Town Warrenton on Tuesday, May 14 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The show will come down Sunday, May 19 and all work is to be picked up from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The show will be open to the public Friday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
