textures of buildings before they are built in town, commissioner Byrd Jones said that she would want the review board to have some limitation on the height of buildings to enforce. “I want to insure that we’ll always be able to see the mountains,” Jones said.
Wickens assured her that the ordinance includes guidelines for the scale, texture and style of buildings. The commissioners klso decided that they may include a provision on signs in the ordinance.
“We want to let people know that this is not something to be afraid of, but that the ordinance will include things that people who care about the town would do anyway,” chairman Reynolds said. “We are just trying to keep a pleasant town. ”
The ordinance will be the subject of a public hearing at the commission’s next meeting on Wednesday, May 22 at 8 p.m.
