The proposed historic district ordinance would establish a three-member architectural review board to review plans for changes to existing buildings or for new buildings in town. The proposed ordinance will set guidelines for buildings, such as color and style, that conform to architectural styles from the towrn’s founding to 1945.
The council is required to pass the cross connection ordinance by the state. Valves will have to be installed at each water meter in town to prevent any drawback of waste or chemicals into the town’s water supply.
There were people in the audience who were at the council meeting to find out what to do about a building variance request for the library. Kramer advised them that the council no longer has the authority to hear variance requests since its decision to form a town board of zoning appeals.
The towm BZA’s members have not yet been appointed by the Circuit Court judge. Kramer said that the council would advise the judge that a matter for the BZA has come up and will ask him to make the appointments as soon as possible.
