The idea to do a story on Peyton Anderson came to us from Helen Holschuh, an appointed historian at the Rappahannock County Historical Society.
On Friday she delivered a short note to the Newsoffice informing us that she had unearthed from the county archives a Blue Ridge Guideoi 1927. That was good news. A 1927 copy of the county’s former newspaper is an historical document regardless of the content of its print.
But speaking of content, this issue had a wrorthy dose. Holschuh pointed out in her note that this Blue Ridge Guide contained an article on Peyton Anderson, a native of Rappahannock who just happened to be the first Confederate soldier wounded in the Civil
