Summer camps are in full swing now with many of bur young people attending. Chris Moyles, who is about to enter the 8th grade at Rappahannock County High School, will be spending two weeks at the University of Virginia taking part in their Summer Enrichment Program, which is through the Gifted and Talented Program.
Chris will be majoring in science in his fourth exciting summer there. He enjoys the interesting classes and meeting new kids from the entire state of Virginia. Chris has even made good friends with some of the boys who have attended each year. His friend from Rappahannock, David Mosher of Battle Mountain, will be attending also. Chris is the son of Stephen and Mitch Hostetter.
Another program is the Alumni Engineering Enrichment Camp at Virginia Tech, where an aspiring engineer who will be an 11th grade student at R.C.H.S. is a junior counselor this summer. He is Richard Tribino, son of Richard and Nancy Schoppet.
Richard has attended Virginia Tech’s Engineering Camp for three summers and was delighted when asked to be a counselor this year. He was happy to find out that he would be counseling some younger Rappahannock students who just happen to be his friends and/or teammates from basketball and soccer. Look out, Tech!
A grand party was held last weekend at the home of Doctor Michelle and Mrs. Judy DuBois. It was in celebration of the French holiday called Bastille Day, which marks the capture of the Bastille, a fortified prison, by the people of Paris in 1789 during the French Revolution. Doctor DuBois is
