Beginning a new fiscal year, the Fauquier Chapter of the American Red Cross has scheduled a bloodmobile at the Warrenton Fire House on Thursday, July 25, between noon and 6 p.m.
The chapter is facing a 1985-86 goal of 1,340 units (pints), said George Borjes, blood service chairman, with 90 units as the goal for the July 25 blood drive. In the fiscal year the ended June 30, the Fauquier/Rappahannock community fell short of the goal of 1,150 units, collecting 1,133, said Borjes.
But for the special bloodmobile in memory of Blair Timberlake, the chapter would have fallen far short of last year’s goal. That collection amounted to 121 units, with 35 donors who never before contributed to the chapter’s blood program.
