According to Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) director Anne Stephens, the 1986 membership <Jrive is receiving a good response from both existing and. mew members. RAAC, formed in 1982, was directed primarily at Rappahannock County residents but is drawing an increasing number of members and patrons from adjoining counties.
“It’s not uncommon to see people from quite distant communities attending our programs,” said RAAC president Frank Reynolds, “and we’ve increased our publicity in adjoining counties so that people there will know about our programs.”
Mr. Reynolds added that, since RAAC is a non-profit organization, it must rely mostly on public service space in newspapers, regional magazines and radio.
