The survey indicates these other findings about PE residential customers:

82 percent live in a single family house;

33 percent use electricity as the main fiiel to heat their homes, up from 27 percent in 1983 surveys;

73 percent said their main source of information about Potomac Edison was through bill inserts; 27 percent said their main source of information about the company was through newspapers; 11 percent through television; 7 percent got their information from other PE employees; 6 percent through radio; and 2 percent responded “other.”

51 percent of PE customers live in residences that are 20 years old or less, while 49 percent live in dwellings 21 years and older.

70 percent of those customers, who purchased a mjgor appliance in 1985 bought one with a high energyefficiency rating compared to 60 percent in 1983, 51 percent in 1981, and 37 percent in 1979.

The first-time question, “Do you have a home computer?” revealed the following response — 87 percent, no; 11 percent, yes; no response, 2 percent.

85 percent of the respondents rate PE satisfactory to excellent in providing emergency repair service when the power is out.
