During (General District Court on February 25, Judge S.C. Price found Charles Lewis Gallihugh guilty of driving while intoxicated and driving on a suspended sentence. The incident occurred on April 28, 1985 when Rappahannock Deputy Settle arrested Mr. Gallihugh in Sperryville after receiving a report of a swerving vehicle on Route 522 near Sperryville. Frank Reynolds, attorney for Mr. Gallihugh, stated during the trial that the state had not proved there was any evidence- he was driving under the influence. Mr. Gallihugh received a 30 day jail sentence of which 20 days were suspended along with fines.
William Lee Estes pleaded guilty to a DWI charge, his second. He stated that he has been aware that he has had a problem with alcohol but asked that his license be restricted in ord*>r that he get to work. He said that he was willing to undergo treatment at the state’s alcohol rehabilitation program. Douglas Baumgardner who represented Mr. Estes urged the judge to restrict the driving license so that Mr. Estes could continue to work. Judge Price fined him and gave him a 30 day jail sentence; 20 days of that sentence were suspended. His license was restricted.
