Customer attitudes toward the Potomac Edison Company have improved measurably over the past two years, according to the results of the electric utility’s 1985 Customer Opinion Survey.

Ninety-two percent of the company’s residential customers rated their overall impression of the company as satisfactory to excellent, compared to 90 percent in 1983. The survey is conducted every two years and draws from a random sample of the company’s 246,000 residential customers. Survey forms were mailed to a sample of 3,560 customers. The 41.3 percent response rate statistically qualifies the results as 95 percent accurate plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Customers receive a survey containing 30 questions, soliciting responses about the value of electricity, energy conservation, type of appliances used in the home, in what ways does Potomac Edison do a good or poor job of providing ‘service, the main fuel used to heat the home, government regulation of utilities, and more.
