Lucille Fox
Lucille Updike Fox, 87, of Washington, widow of Cary Fox, died Thursday, February 20,1986 at Culpeper Health Care Center. A native of Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Annie Kibler Updike. She was a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church near Washington.
She is survived by two brothers, Roland Updike of Front Royal and John B. Updike of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, February 22 at the graveside in Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery near Luray. The Rev. Jimmy Burke officiated.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
James Bennett
James Lloyd Bennett, 75, of Boston, died Saturday, February 22, 1986 at his residence. A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Cumberland S. and Octavia Jenkins Bennett. He was a painter and employee of Rental Uniform Services in Culpeper. He was a member of Piedmont Regular Baptist Church near Sperryville.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Woodrow Brown Bennett; two sons, Emerson B. Bennett of Alexandria and James Lloyd Bennett of Gainesville; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy K. Kianka of Castleton and four grandchildren.
Additional survivors include five brothers, Reid Bennett of Arlington, Dan K. Bennett of Waldorf, Md., John W. Bennett of Centreville, Cumberland S. Bennett, Jr. of Gainesville and Carroll R. Bennett of Annandale; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Johnson of Waldorf, Md., and Mrs. Dolly Jenkins of Luray. '
