Baseball practice
The first baseball practice for Tee-ball and Little League will be held Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to noon at the fields near the Rappahannock Elementary School.
Benefit auction at Amissville
An auction sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. at the fire hall. For more information call Paul Poling, 937-5205.
Playground work weekend set
Residents are invited to sign up for playground work weekend to be held May 3 and 4 at RCES. Call and volunteer yourself and tools together or donate food and time. Jobs for kids, too! Call 987-8137 or 987-8750 or 675-3846. Think playground!
Humane Society to meet
The Rappahannock Humane Society’s annual membership meeting will be held Monday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the courthouse if renovations are completed. If not, watch next week’s paper for an alternate site. Old members and all interested individuals are urged to attend.
Annual benefit dinner
The annual dinner sponsored by the Castleton Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be served April 25 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Roast beef and turkey will be featured. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.25 for children.
SPTA to meet
The Rappahannock County Elementary Student Parent Teacher Association will have its monthly meeting in the school library on Tuesday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. This is the next to last meeting of the year. Items on the agenda include election of 1986-87 officers, final playground plans, and a summary of the SPTA’s activities this school year. Babysitting is provided for parents’ and teachers’ children.
Free aerobic dance classes
A six-week series of aerobic dance classes will begin Tuesday, April 29. New students are welcome to attend the first two weeks free. For those who attend the entire session, class fee is $25 for twice a week, $35 for unlimited attendance. Afternoon classes at the Flint Hill fire hall are at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Evening classes are at Rappahannock Elementary School Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. No experience is necessairy and all ages and sizes are welcome.
