trition Committee, each time she received a copy, she called to thank us, and discuss the information in it. She also called frequently to say she enjoyed my “Sally Ann’s Kitchen” article which appears weekly in the Culpeper Star-Exponent. I shall miss her calls.
If I wanted information about herbs, I called Flossie. She was a source of constant amazement with her knowledge about herbs.
In March I wrote about a book, Nutrition for Older People by Dr. Frederick Stare, which we had presented to the Culpeper Library. She called to get more information because she thought the Rappahannock Library should have a copy! I sent the information, and almost immediately she called to say “thank you” and tell me the librarian had bought a copy of the book. That was the last time I had talked to her, but had mentioned her frequently since my husband was going through the same eye operation she had had about three years ago. I think she was 84 when she came driving to town just a few weeks after her eye implants.
She lived her 87 years with dignity, friendliness, a person con- 1 stantly seeking more knowledge and sharing it with others.
