The four second grade classes received a certificate of merit for outstanding group effort. They passed their own “pickle jar” and collected approximately $32.
Seven classrooms received individual certificates of merit for raising more than $100.
The SPTA has alloted $1,000 from their general fund for the playground.
The students will begin to see the generously donated money put to use on May 3 when playground construction begins.
