“I was tremendously touched by how helpful and accepting people have been,” he said.
Mr. Morehouse is married to the former Linda Waddell, whose family has owned property in the area for > 35 years, and they have a baby girl, Sarah.
“We agreed that this is a perfect place to raise children,” Mr. Morehouse said. “I like the idea of many babies of the same generation all growing up together in the town.
For the protection of the town children, Mr. Morehouse would like to see the speed limit in the center of town lowered, the speed limits all over town observed, and other ordinances enforced.
“We’re getting a lot more pedestrian traffic here, and we need to protect those people too,” he said.
“There’s a lot of life and spirit in the town now,” Mr. Morehouse said. “I think everyone realizes how lucky we are to live here. We need to build from that.”
Mr. Morehouse is a builder for Bush Construction Co. His name will not be listed on the ballot and must be written in as Dean F. Morehouse.
