Dried flower nosegay workshop

Faith Mountain in Sperryville will sponsor a dried flower nosegay workshop on Saturday, July 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. “Join us to learn how to make an old-fashioned, hand-held, colonial nosegay,” said owners Martin and Cheri Woodard. Created from dried baby’s breath, statice and flowers, the nosegay is finished with a six-inch lace ruff and cas-* cading ribbons. “You may add a scented oil if you wish. Your nosegay will make a wonderful gift for someone special,” the Woodards added.

Those taking the workshop will learn three very practical florist skills—-wiring flowers, taping stems and wires, and bow making. All materials, including a gift box, will be supplied. Persons attending should bring scissors, wire cutters and an apron. As usual, there will be a break for herb tea and lemonade, herb butter and crackers. The cost of the workshop is $20.
