Alternatives: The Women’s Program, a new service to help women with substance abuse problems, opened in June. Offered by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center and centrally located in Culpeper, Alternatives is a day treatment facility for women from Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties. Fees are based on the client’s ability to pay.
Funding for Alternatives was awarded to the center and only four other planning districts state-wide, out of 22 proposals submitted. The project represents Virginia’s first effort at promoting a program aimed specifically at women with substance abuse problems.
This fully confidential program operates three days per week, five hours per day.
