The citizens of Rappahannock have an opportunity to help our county maintain the quality and pride of our historic past. Please join in supporting the renovation of the Courthouse, our most visible public building and a fine example of the county’s heritage.
The Board of Supervisors has recently been asked to renovate the courtroom. The limited funds available dictated a modernization of the room to include a suspended ceiling and surface mounting lighting. Believing that the tradition of the room should be retained, a group of concerned citizens and the Rappahannock Historical Society have joined together to raise an additional $8,000 to enhance the renovation efforts. These additional funds have been obtained on loan and must be reimbursed. They are enabling the renovators to drywall the ceiling, to maintain the current height, to purchase appropriate reproduction lighting, and to obtain materials to support the refinishing of the benches. These are critical items in maintaining the dignity of the courtroom.
If you share the feelings of the Historical Society you take a great deal of pride in the county’s heritage as well as in our public buildings.
