notice of appeal of Campaigner v. Dabkowski last week in Loudoun Circuit Court.
Steve Dabkowski had been sued for $2 million in March by Campaigner and its employees Linda deHoyos and Susan Ulanowsky for remarks he made on a February WRC-TV program that addressed the tension between LaRouche followers and longtime Loudoun residents.
Mr. LaRouche came to Loudoun in 1983. The application to operate a camp for the children of Campaigner employees failed in a 2-2 Board of Zoning Appeals vote in February, 1986, after the camp had been run or two years.
Landfill hearing set
After heated comments by citizens and board members Monday, the Loudoun Board of Supervisors delayed action until Sept. 15 on proposed ordinance changes about privately operated debris landfills.
The supervisors and the county Planning Commission will hold joint public hearings on the proposed changes which would allow debris landfills.
Public comment and supervisor discussion lasted 2V4 hours, after which Supervisor Andrew R. Bird III (R-Sterling) withdrew his attempt to get a vote on a zoning ordinance amendment and regulation changes which would have allowed private operation of debris landfills.
