15-year-old girl raped
After an 18-hour hunt, Loudoun Sheriffs deputies Thursday arrested two men who allegedly raped a 15year-old girl who was walking alone in Sterling Park.
The men were charged with abduction with intent to defile, rape and sodomy in the incident a 20-year police veteran called one of the most brutual he’d ever seen.
The girl was walking alone at the intersection of Commerce and Holly streets between 11 p.m. and midnight Wednesday on her way home from the Sterling Park Shopping Center. Two men in a red sports car slowed down beside her and asked if she needed a lift. She said she didn’t but they made her get into the car anyway, according to police reports.
Unique engine on view
A one-of-a-kind steam engine, not only reconstructed by the Shenandoah Valley Gas and Steam Association but also saved from a life of crime, will be on display at the annual Steam Show this weekend.
The three-day event, Friday through Sunday, takes at the Ruritan Fairgrounds on Rt. 7 west of Berryville.
An antique tractor pull is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday and a horse pull will be held Saturday at 6 p.m.At least 125 vendors will display their items in the flea market and the youngsters can enjoy steam drawn hayrides around the grounds.
The show begins at noon on Friday and opens at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
