holiday deaths
The Virginia State Police reported that at least 20 people lost their lives on Virginia’s highways during the July 4 holiday period extending from 6 p.m., Thursday, July 3, through midnight Sunday, July 6.
Of the 20 persons killed, two were pedestrians, two were riding motorcycles, and nine were determined to be alcohol related. Only two of the 16 persons killed who should have been wearing their seatbelts were buckled up.
