Paul M. Coleman of Wytheville,
Virginia, has accepted the position of part-time Assistant County Agent in Rappahannock and assumed duties in that office last week. He will also be part-time assistant in Warren County.
The Rappahannock Garden Club held its regular monthly meeting at the Episcopal Parish Hall on Wednesday, July 19, at 2 p.m. Mrs. C. B. Johnson was hostess. Mrs. H. B. Winfrey, program director, introduced Mr. W. H. Lyne, County Agent, who spoke on planning and zoning projects in Rappahannock County. His remarks were illustrated by colored movies and charts.

James G. Whitehurst of Virginia
Beach, a conditionally appointed trooper, has been assigned to Rappahannock County for a training period and will be working with Trooper J. B. Willis and W. A. Buntin. Mr. Whitehurst will attend the next basic training school in Richmond beginning August 15. He is living in the home of Mrs. Virginia Lewis in Sperryville.
The old brick building on Gay Street near the Courthouse in Washington will eventually house a county museum which the Historical Society hopes to establish in the future. Very little factual history of the building has been obtained. However, it is thought to have been used as a tavern, county clerk’s office, outside kitchen for Avon Hall, and lawyer’s office, among other
