Edmund Hitt, Jr. Edmund Addison Hitt, Jr., 59, died July 16 at his home in Amissville. A native of Albemarle County, he was the son of the late Edmund Addison and Lillian C. Smith Hitt. He is survived by two aunts, Mrs. Mabel Lee Eisenman of Amissville and Miss Elizabeth S. Smith of Culpeper, and an uncle, Wilson Hitt of Frederick, Md. Funeral services were conducted July 20 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home, Culpeper, by the Rev. Paul Markee. Interment was at the Hitt family graveyard near Amissville. Pallbearers named were Charles Daniel Eisenman, Larry Silvey, Eddie Hitt, Gary Miller, Allen Eisenman, Johnny Hitt, Craig Silvey and Brian Silvey.
Leola Melton Leola Caudle Melton of Front Royal, formerly of Sperryville and Luray, died July 15 in Front Royal.
