“Landowners see somebody in camouflage and they immediately think he’s a slob hunter,” said Bobby Whorton. He suggested landowners take the time to check a person’s background and reputation rather than rejecting out of hand a request for permission to hunt. If the results of that check are positive, Mr. Whorton added, landowners should grant permission and enlist the hunter’s help in controlling the slobs and hoodlums who are giving the sport a bad name.
