Within minutes another individual appeared, clad in shirtsleeves (this guy does Business) and ushered our hero into his private office.
How they ever got two doors hung in one phone booth will always be a mystery, but the office did also have a glass door out into the lot.. . and a small desk . . . and two cnairs (one with a padded seat).
“Have a seat, and I’ll look at your car,” the Sales Manager said. He took the keys, went out the door to our hero’s faithful chariot, drove it around the building once and parked it right outside the glass door to his office.
Less than five minutes have passed, but the Sales Manager does not come in through the door. He has disappeared. Now time passes, but slowly, slowly, and the seat gets harder, harder. A half-hour passes, during which time our hero amuses himself by watching the traffic gridlock outside get tangleder and tangleder.
Finally, the Sales Manager (himself) comes in the door, looks at our hero with the same look that the hangman has for the man standing
