mias caroara Ann Martin and Charles Albert Sisk were united in marriage on October 18 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at the Thornton’s Gap Regular Baptist Church in Sperryville.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin M. Martin of Woodville.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Sisk of Sperryville.
Reverend Kirby Shenk performed the double ring ceremony. The church was lit by candlelight and decorated with ferns and an arrangement of pink carnations and with mums arrayed on the piano and organ. Mrs. Nancy Thompson was the pianist and played the traditional wedding music. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pettit sang O Precious Love.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a formal white wedding gown of silk taffeta, featuring ornate tapering sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was of French lace adorned with pearls and mother of pearl sequins. The sweeping chapel train fell from a full body skirt trimmed at the bottom with French lace. She wore a hat of matching lace and pearls with French illusion. Her bouquet was a cascade of burgundy roses, white sweetheart roses, ribbons and pearls.
Miss Jeanie Dwyer of Washington was the maid of honor. She wore a burgundy taffeta gown accented with a satin bow sash, and carried a cascade bouquet of burgundy roses and baby’s breath.
The bridesmaids were Anna Wharton of Culpeper, Charla Cordle
