Business Council to meet

The Washington Business Council will meet on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 8 p.m. at Brambles for its regular monthly'meeting. Plans for the Colonial Christmas weekend will be reviewed. All business owners in town are invited to attend. Those who wish to have dinner prior to the meeting at 7 p.m. should call Brambles for reservations.

Spaghetti dinner at RCES

An all you can eat spaghetti dinner sponsored by the seventh graders at Rappahannock County Elementary School will be served Thursday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria. Proceeds will benefit the seventh grade class trip to be held in March. Advance tickets may be purchased for $5 from any seventh grade student or tqaicher ox; at the door. I

Following the dinner the Christmas musical will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. For additional information on the dinner contact Lynne Baines at 675-3253.

Christmas concert

The Front Royal Oratorio Society presents its 26th annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Front* Royal Presbyterian Church. Featured works include “Sleepers Wake,” the J. S. Bach Cantata No. 140 with soloists Dr. Janette Ogg and Dr. Philip Sargen, and the Howard McKinney cantata “The Son of Man,” accompanied by brass quartet and organ. Refreshments will be served after the program in the church fellowship hall. “This is a lovely send-off for the Christmas season,” said an organizer.

Noted photo journalist to speak

Ed Clark, veteran photojournalist for Life magazine, will be the first speaker at the Rappahannock County Library’s “Second Friday” series. Mr. Clark’s talk and slide show will be presented at the Gay Street Theatre Friday, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m. There is no admission charge.

Arts and crafts show

A Mistletoe Arts and Crafts Show will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 to 4 at the Front Royal Youth Center. Special features will be Santa’s Secret Shop, with shopping and gift wrapping just for children.

DAR meeting

The Culpeper Minutemen NSDAR will hold the SAR/DAR banquet Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Airlie, Warrenton. Reservations may be made by sending a check for $10 per person to Jennings Flathers, Rt. 1, Box 345A, Gainesville, Va. 22065. A program on Genealogy and Folklore will be presented by Dr. Charles Perdue.
