He was a member of the Chester Gap Baptist Mission, where his funeral service was conducted Nov. 30 by Rev. James Burke and Rev. William Alford. Interment was at Rockland Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ralph Buracker, Manuel Pullen, M. M. Hawkins Jr., James Smeltzer, Carroll Russell and Joel Plaugher.
Honorary pallbearers were Sherman Williams, John Williams, Joe Williams, Bedford North, Wally Wines and Benny Atkins.
Myrtle Laus
Myrtle Riley Laus, 65, of Coatesville, Pa., formerly of White Post, died Nov. 29 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Lancaster, Pa.
Mrs. Laus was bom in Winchester, the daughter of the late Launia and Gordon Omdorff.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Laus, a son Preston James “Jim” Riley of White Post, a brother Harrison “Sonny” Nicholson of Toms Brook, a sister Helen Riley of Flint Hill, seven sisters in Pennsylvania, three grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Dec. 2 at Coatesville Funeral Home. Burial was in Fair View Cemetery, Coatesville.
Chris Cook
Chris C. Cook, 58, died Nov. 27 at his home at Richmond, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Cook of Richmond, Ky., two daughters, Sharron Emory of Austin, Texas, and Velda Cook of Richmond, Ky., a son Curtis Cook of Fredericksburg, four brothers, Dave Cook of Orange, Branson Cook of Culpeper, Carl Cook of Middleburg and John Cook of Stafford, three sisters, Julia Clatterbuck of Charlottesville, Sadie Durham of Culpeper and Edna Wince of Warrenton, and six grandchildren.
