Panther team has good size. With 6’ 6” center Godfrey Freeman, and forwards Butch Foster (6’ 5”) and Devin Moore (6’ 3”, 240 pounds), “we should be very strong inside, rebounding and quick on the fast breaks, as well as controlling the boards.”

“We have good quickness in senior guards Gary Jackson and Richard Tribino, as well. They bring a lot of experience from last year.” Coach Leake expects the duo to be the playmakers, to run the offense as they protect the backcourt.

Two other seniors will be bringing leadership to the team: Walter Frye and Reggie Williams. Along with Mark Brown, the three will provide the Panthers with depth and offensive punch off the bench. “All three were impressive in the two scrimmages,” Coach Leake said.

“I also have quite a core of junior guards,” he said, in Greg Smith, Tony Clark, David Raiford and Michael Dunn. “All are excellent hustlers, and I expect them to get equal playing time in different roles.”
