the trigonometry and calculus students were given the opportunity to participate. The team participants may vary from contest to contest because the five highest students may change each time. Because of time constraints the students took the test during a half hour of class time.

Each test consists of six questions. The total possible team score is 30. Rappahannock scored 27. High school math, algebra, traditional and coordinate geometry are included in every test.

“These questions require good mathematical thinkers more than they require a specific mathematical technique,” Mrs. LaCava observed.

The second part of the contest was given Dec. 2.
