The Board of Supervisors, at a special meeting convened last Thursday afternoon, authorized preliminary testing at a second possible landfill site.
The 105-acre tract, located off the south side of Rt. 622 about onehalf mile from the intersection of Rt. 729, was suggested to the Landfill Site Selection Committee by the owner, Patricia Saltonstall. Ms. Saltonstall said last week that the property has been for sale for more than three years, and that she contacted the landfill committee when she learned of their plea for suggestions of possible sites from landowners.
