sports notes As the soccer season drew to a close, Wakefield’s varsity soccer team fought RMA to a standstill, preserving Wakefield’s undefeated status at home. The game ended in a hard-fought scoreless tie. The varsity soccer team cinched the Delaney Conference Soccer title for the fourth straight year with impressive wins over Emmanuel School and Seton at the tournament, held recently at Wakefield. In the Delaney League, which includes six schools in Northern Virginia, Wakefield completed the year undefeated. In the opening basketball games of the season, Wakefield’s junior varsity and varsity teams both went dowm to defeat against Bethlehem Baptist of Fairfax. The junior varsity game was close. The Varsity Owls were no match for the more experienced Warriors who ranked third in the nation last year in the Christian School Conference. The score of the game was 74-42.
Homecoming
basketball Students Against Drunk Driving and the RCHS chapter of the National Honor Society are sponsoring a homecoming basketball game Friday, Dec. 12. The Rappahannock Panthers will face off against Manassas Park in their first meeting of the season. JV action begins at 6 p.m., and the varsity game will start at 7:30. '
