‘Ruthless People’
Ruthless People will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Dec. 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. The movie stars Bette Midler, Danny DeVito, Judge Reinhold and Helen Salter. Directed by the Airplane! threesome - Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker - this farce stars DeVito as a millionaire who wants to kill his heiress wife played oy Midler. He is overjoyed when she is kidnapped and refuses to pay the ransom to the hapless and kindhearted kidnappers. Zany stuff with some great lines. The movie is rated R. Admission is $2 for children and $3 for adults.
Holiday decorating class
A holiday decorating and wreath making class will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 1 to 4:30 at Faith Mountain in Sperryville.
The class will include lecture, “hands-on” workshop, and idea generating discussion. Decorations to be covered are 18th century Williamsburg Apple Cone, Candlestick Arrangement, Kissing Ball, Herb Wreath, bow making and much more. The cost for the class is $30, including all materials. Everyone will make one wreath to take home. The class has limited enrollment, therefore advance registration is required. Healing workshop
Kathleen A. Maier, PA-C will lead a workshop on the Immune System and natural methods in prevention of colds, flus and infections Dec. 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Middle Street Gallery. In addition to these topics she will address the vaccination issue and alternatives, techniques in enhancing our natural defenses and the relationship of lymphatis to others of our ecology. The fee is $10 for early registration and $12 at the door.
Spaghetti dinner at RCES
An all you can eat spaghetti dinner sponsored by the seventh graders at Rappahannock County Elementary School will be served today, Thursday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria. Proceeds will benefit the seventh grade class trip to be held in March. Tickets at $5 may be purchased may be purchased at the door.
Following the dinner the annual Christmas musical will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. For additional information on the dinner contact Lynne Baines at 675-3253.
