Wakefield School, in rural Rappahannock ' County, has always prided itself on its language programs, both ancient and modern. Now Wakefield has yet another language accomplishment to announce. The school is conducting a course in the ancient language of Sanskrit.
Sanskrit is the language of ancient India and the precursor of modern Hindi, Bengali, and Urdu. It is one of the parent languages of the Indo-European family in which Latin, Greek, Russian, the Romance languages, English and a host of other languages find their origins.
