He projected landfill costs at:

• $500,000 for site development.

• $66,000 a year for repayment of that sum with interest at 12 percent and amortization over 20 years.

• $175,000 for annual operations including debt retirement and post closure ftind.

That works out to disposal costs of $44.87 per ton.

Assuming one central transfer station for collecting and sorting solid waste to be trucked out of the county for disposal, Mr. Joyce allowed:

• $250,000 for site development.

• $33,000 a year for repayment at 12 percent interest over 20 years.

• $150,500 for annual operations, including debt retirement, tipping fees at $15 a ton, transfer station maintenance and operation at $20,000 and transportation at $39,000 (based on four 150-mile trips a week at $1.25 per mile).
