4-h Adventure team
The 4-H Rappahannock Adventure Team’s next meeting will be held March 25 at 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church. Any interested people are encouraged to attend.
Basket class scheduled
Local fiber artist Janet Kerig will hold a basketweaving class at the Middle Street Gallery April 2, 9 and 16 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The three-session class will be devoted to completing an Appalachian melon basket with a grapevine handle and natural dyed splints. Sue Slaughter Group meeting
The spring meeting of the Sue Slaughter Group of the Shiloh Association Woman’s Missionary Union will be held at the Forest Grove Baptist Church on Thursday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. The program will consist of reports from the state meeting held March 10-11 in Salem and a slide presentation on Camp Little Cross Roads, our WMU camp near LowesviUe in Amherst County. All members are urged to be present, and pastors and other friends are invited.
Spaghetti dinner
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be sponsoring an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on March 28 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for 5-12 years old, and children 4 and under eat free. Call 937-4357 for additional information.
Practical nursing class
Piedmont Technical Education Center announces that it has extended the application deadline for the Practical Nursing class to March 20. If you are interested in being a Licensed Practical Nurse, Piedmont Technical Education Center offers an 18-month program to prepare the student to take the State Board of Nursing examination. This class will start in September 1987. It is open for adults of any age as well as high school seniors and rising seniors. There is no tuition charge for residents of Culpeper, Madison, Orange or Rappahannock counties. The cost for the course is between $600-1,000 which is distributed over the 18-month period.
