C. G. Thornhill’s litter of

eleven pigs placed first in the district and fifth statewide in the 56 - Day Litter Weight Contest held in 1966. He is a member of the Rappahannock Senior 4-H Club and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thornhill of Boston.

Mr. H. L. Manwaring of Falls Church and Woodville, Va. arrived March 7 in Caracas, Venezuela where he will spend two months consulting with the Ministry of Agriculture. Consultations will include the efficiency and effectiveness of Agricultural programs and organizations.

Franklin Settle caught a 41/2 lb. sucker, 20 inches long, on Tuesday in the Thornton River at Rock Mills. His fishing partner was Bunny Hudson. They reported that suckers are scarce and there are no bass.

The Arts and Crafts group

meeting at Cab Inn in Sperryville will be on March 28 at 10 a.m., to finish up work on the Crazy Quilt. Everyone who has been working on a square is asked to bring or send their finished square to the meeting. They are also encouraged to bring along ideas for the arts and crafts show and sale. Anna Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Lewis of Flint Hill, has been named to the dean’s list of honor students at Hollins College. A graduate of Madeira School in Greenway, she is a sophomore at the woman’s college.^
