Estes said he has “eryoyed serving the people of Piedmont District” and is "looking forward to another four.” Mr. Estes has lobbied hard for the dtial-laning of Route 211 from Washington to Sperryville to be restored to the state’s six-year road plan; this year, that long-delayed project went back on the books.
He indicated that safety improvements to the county’s roads, particularly to sections of Route 522 now heavily used by big trucks, will continue to be a priority. Mr. Estes added that he will elaborate later on other goals and objectives.
Nelson Lane, former member of the county School Board who won a seat on the Board of Supervisors four years ago, said he will seek reelection this November. “I will continue to do my best for the county’s best interests if the people will have me,” the Stonewall-Hawthome representative said.
