BUILDING OFFICIAL Full-time, permanent position as Fauquier County Building Official and Chief of the Building Inspections Department. Salary $20,795-831,211 depending upon qualifications with excellent fringe benefits. Responsible for the total enforcement of the United Statewide Building Code as published and interpreted by the State Building Code Technical Review Board. Directs all Department functions which Includes processing applications, Issuing building permits, collection of fees, conduct of inspections and provision of authoritative advice and assistance on code interpretation enforcement and compliance. Requires substantial formal education and/ or direct job-related technical/ managerial training in the building Inspection field in addition to a high school degree and 5 years experience in the building construction trades.
