BUILDING INSPECTION

Rappahannock County is currently accepting applications to fill the permanent, part-time position of Building Official/ Building Inspector. Responsible for complete enforcement of the Uniform Statewide Building Code as published and interpreted by the State Building Code Technical Review Board. Handles processing of applications, collection of fees, issuing of building permits, conducting inspections and provision of advice and assistance on code interpretation, enforcement and compliance. Position requires at least five years experience as a licensed professional engineer or architect, building inspector, contractor or superintendent of building construction, with at least three years in responsible charge of the work described above. Combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful applicant must be willing to complete education and training requirements as prescribed in Section 102 of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (1984), as necessary.
