whether the beef they consumed had caused a higher than normal level of serum cholesterol. Paul Harvey reported that the blood cholesterol of Iowa cattlemen was lower than normal. In fact, 300 beef eaters had unusually low levels of cholesterol.

It should be recognized that cattlemen exercised more than most people which may account for the low cholesterol levels. Mr. Harvey concluded: “But as Danny O’Neil would say, ‘obviously, the beef don’t hurt’.”
