A new off-season Family Camping Pass will be available when the Virginia State Park campgrounds open the 1987 season on Friday, March 27. Cabins located in some of the state’s parks will be available for rental beginning on Monday, April 27.
For a one-time fee of $25, the pass offers unlimited family camping between March 27 and Thursday, May 21, and between Tuesday, Sept. 8, and Monday, Nov. 30 (closing date for the 1987 camping season). The pass may be purchased at all state parks except Seashore State Park in Virginia Beach. A 14day limit on each visit is still being enforced.
The Virginia Division of Parks and Recreation said that all campsites may still be rented on a per-day basis, at a price of $7 per day ($10 at Seashore). Each site will accommodate up to six people. Rentals for state park cabins are the same as last year, one-room, $95 per week; one-bedroom, $110 per week; twobedroom, $180 per week. Two-bedroom cabins at Seashore rent for $216 per week.
