CPR classes offered

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be offering CPR classes Sunday, March 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. Cost for materials is $2. Pre-registration is required. For reservations or additional information call Diane Morris at 937-4274.

Beauty pageant planned

The annual beauty pageant sponsored by the Sperryville Rescue Sqiiad will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School. Girls between the ages of two and high school seniors and boys between three and six are urged to participate. Rehearsal is set for Friday evening, April 24, at 6:30 at the school. Roast beef dinner

Hopewell United Methodist Church, Lignum, will have a roast beef dinner Saturday, April 4, from 5-7 p.m. Cost will be adults $6.50, 12 and under $2.75. Carry-out dinners will be available, and baked items will be sold. Door prizes will be given. Proceeds will benefit the church steeple fund.

Kiwanis’ 10 K and fun run

The Winchester Kiwanis Club will hold a 10 K road race and one mile fun run April 4. These races are held each spring and fall in conjunction with the club’s major fundraiser — Pancake Day.

The fun run is conducted on a loop through the Winchester Recreation Park and will start at 10:30 a.m. The 10 K road race begins at 11 a.m. The start/finish line is next to the Kiwanis Shelter a few hundred yards east of the War Memorial Building and those delicious pancakes.

Cost of the fun run is $1. Preregistration for the 10 K is $6 through March 31 and $7 thereafter. Pancake Day dinner tickets are $2,50 in advance, or $3 at the door.
