The resolution adopted by the board last Thursday notes that “Community Trash, Inc. currently has in place and in operation a solid waste removal and disposal capability in Rappahannock County” and is, because of the lack of time, the only source “pratically available” to haul Rappahannock’s trash to Culpeper County.
After Warren and Fauquier reneged on tentative agreements to accept Rappahannock’s solid waste for 120 days, CulpepeFs supervisors reversed their earlier position and assented to taking for three months the 16 tons a day produced here. That solid waste exchange contract was also approved by the board following Thursday’s executive session. Its terms call for.
• Culpeper to accept solid waste from Rappahannock for 120 days, the time period to begin within eight months.
• Rappahannock to accept one and one-half times that amount of solid waste from Culpeper for a like 120 day period after this county has a landfill in operation.
• neither county to charge a tipping fee.
• Rappahannock to pay all hauling costs, both for its trash to be carried to Culpeper’s landfill and for Culpeper’s trash to be carried here.
• neither county to deliver brush or hazardous waste material to the other.
